Former Ford Escape Hybrid chief joins Johnson-Controls-Saft

The chief engineer who helped bring the Ford Escape Hybrid to production for Ford has now joined the Johnson Controls-Saft Advanced Power Solutions joint venture as CEO. Mary Ann Wright will guide the new company as they pursue business for their lithium battery technology in the rapidly growing hybrid and electric vehicle markets. The JCS venture has already been awarded a development contract from General Motors for the plug-in hybrid version of the Saturn Vue and Saft batteries are being tested in the Ford HySeries Drive Edge.
