Chrysler OFFICIALLY announces new Sebring - talks up cost and cupholders

After a flurry of pics were leaked onto the internet last night (see links below), Chrysler finally got its chance to properly introduce the 2007 Chrysler Sebring at its Chelsea Proving Grounds this morning. We now know the '07 Sebring will be available with three engines, a 2.4L World Engine four-cylinder producing 172 hp, a 2.7L V6 producing 190 hp and 190 ft-lbs. of torque and a 3.5L V6 producing 235 hp and 232 ft-lbs. or torque. A six-speed automatic with AutoStick shifting will also be available.

While pricing wasn't available, Chrysler CEO Tom LaSorda did say that the new Sebring would be priced "well below" the MSRP of similarly contented Camry and Accord models. What might set the Sebring apart from the competition are unique features like cup holders that can heat beverages to 130-degrees or cool them to 35-degrees, and the availability of a Harmon Kardon premium stereo system with an internal 20gb hard drive.

Look for more news and pics as Chrysler makes the official press releases available.
