Biofuel news round up: One billion dollars gallons and more

Biofuel news is all around us, and here's quick round-up of some biofuel production stories from around the country:

• Broin Companies, which operates 24 ethanol plants and is building nine more, will now be producing over a billion gallons of the stuff a year.
• Indiana now has 10 ethanol plants operating or in construction. The newest, announced last week, will be operated by Broin Companies
• Alternative Energy Sources Inc. and Beemer Energy completed a stock-to-stock merger to become an "ethanol leader".
• The Chicago Board of Trade's chairman, Charles Carey, testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources on Monday on the CBOT's ethanol futures contract.
