TerraPass goes to Washington? Politicians and their carbon offsets

/
TerraPass may get elected to higher office. They will if voters in Minnesota elect John Binkowski, an Independent running for Congress who bought a TerraPass last week, into office this fall. Right now, there are no elected officials at the federal level who sport the voluntary carbon offset program's sticker on their bumpers (but some at the lower levels of government do, as the TerraBloggers found out quick enough).

TerraPass doesn't do political endorsements, but relates Binkowski's support for raising the gas tax and stabilizing gas prices, which might make it easier for consumers and auto manufacturers to plan ahead when either buying or producing a car. The real question here is why don't more politicians want to buy a TerraPass or in some other way drive greener.
