Formula 1: Toyota F1 suspends team's technical director

Toyota Motorsports announced  on Wednesday that it is suspending its chassis technical director, Mike Gascoyne until further notice "due to a fundamental difference of opinion with regard to the technical operations of its Formula One team."

Ironically, Toyota had its best result in some time last weekend at the Australian Grand Prix with Ralf Schumacher finishing third.

Gascoyne was hired away from Renault F1 in 2003, in a move that was widely regarded as a coup for the struggling Toyota team.

GrandPrix.com speculates that Pascal Vasselon, the team's General Manager Car Design and Development will be promoted to fill Gascoyne's position.

It is believed that the well-respected Gascoyne likely won't remain unemployed for long.
