Popular auto navigation system maker Garmin Ltd., announced that it is open to settling a patent dispute with rival navigation maker TomTom. Garmin had sued the company last month over five patents.
"We want a resolution, but we also want to make sure that our patents are respected," said John Cassat, director of marketing at Garmin. "It's not hostile, it's not mean-spirited, it's not any of those things. It's not that big a deal as some folks make it."
So far TomTom has not responded to Garmin's outstretched olive branch.
