Restructuring season continues with Renault

Autoblog reader Bob sent us over the BBC's sneak preview of Renault's shakeup, to be detailed by "Le Costcutter" himself, CEO Carlos Ghosn, in a speech this Thursday. BBC News' preview spends much time detailing Ghosn's restructuring of Nissan in 1999 -- lots of slashed jobs and slashed costs, huge changes to the product line -- and profits that have gone up every year since 2001.

The British news source predicts that Ghosn's plans include making Renault and Nissan work even better together, global expansion, new models, and some shuffling (and exporting) at the top levels of management.

Stay tuned for "Le Costcutter, Part Deux," coming this Thursday to a computer near you.
