The Truth About Cars (TTAC) discusses Ford’s air suspension technology, which the company advanced with the Lincoln Mark VII. Later the technology was added to the Continental and the manufacturer’s SUVs like the Lincoln Navigator.
But TTAC is not simply providing a history lesson. Ford is currently marketing itself as an innovator yet barely mentions its pioneering work in air suspension. Luxury marques such as Jaguar, Land Rover (admittedly both owned by Ford), Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and others routinely point out their suspension technology. Here’s an area where Ford can claim it was ‘Moving Forward’ and ‘Never Followed’.
