Inventor of cruise control dies at 75

The Star News out of North Carolina reported that H. David Sturdy, creator of cruise control, died unexpectedly at the age of 75 on Monday night. Sturdy served as Director of Engineering and Sales of the Perfect Circle Division of Dana Corporation, and then moved on to found his own company, the Sturdy Corporation. Sturdy held 17 U.S. and foreign patents for automotive components.
