Ford, UAW announce tentative agreement on health care issue

Both organizations announced that an agreement on the contentious issue has been reached.

"Our goal in these discussions with Ford was to provide the best possible health care coverage and the strongest possible long-term protections for all UAW-Ford active workers, retirees and surviving spouses. We believe this tentative agreement achieves that goal," said UAW President Gettelfinger and Ford Vice President Bantom.

Details will be released next week. The agreement still needs to be ratified by the UAW membership and the courts.
