Diatribe on domestic automakers: a summary

Woe to GM, Ford, the Chrysler part of DaimlerChrysler, their employees, and the companies supporting them. Readers over at MSNBC.com contacted the site to dish out the major problems and the fixes. Most were the standard pronouncements: it's the union's fault, management, or both. Vehicle design and quality (or perceived lacked of) were mentioned as in "[GM cars] are ugly, boxy looking" and "rattle boxes after just a few years". Couple of new ones: the longer repair times for American vehicles and the need for higher education for domestic technicians.
Though the article was somewhat biased (duh), it also summarized quite nicely people's perception of the domestic car industry and its troubles. Suggested solutions, of course, were all over the map.
