OK, time for a slightly more optimistic view of GM's situation

Is the doom and gloom coming from Detroit bumming you out ? Then have a gander at Forbe's list of Five Reasons GM Won't Declare Bankruptcy. I'd like to note that not a single one of them has to do with GM badges on fenders, the Pontiac Solstice, or employee-discount pricing. Seriously, though, the title of the article probably should have "...Yet" tagged onto the end, since I'm not so sure that GM's cash-on-hand is all that substantial (and I rarely say that about $20B), and I think any suggestion that the Delphi/UAW situation will work itself out in a way that's beneficial to GM is premature at best. There is some solid reasoning in this article, though; Reason #4 being an example - the UAW and GM do indeed have it within their power to make something work.
