Nissan may expand Infiniti U.S. lineup

Automotive News reports

Nissan product development czar Carlos Tavares as saying that the company may add a small SUV and the GT-R performance car to the Infiniti brand in the U.S.

The small SUV would be positioned as a competitor for BMW's X3 model.

The new version of the iconic Nissan GT-R is slated for production in two years, and will be available outside Japan for the first time. Whether or not the Infiniti luxury brand is the right home for the supercar will undoubtedly be a topic of, um, "heated discussion" among U.S. GT-R fans.
