Hillary Rodham Clinton calls for automotive summit

Love her or hate her, at least she's trying to do something about the current state of affairs in the auto industry. In response to Delphi's recent bankruptcy filing, 2008 Presidential possibility Hillary Rodham Clinton called upon President George W. Bush to put together an automotive summit. According to Clinton, health care, fuel efficiency and foreign competition are crippling the industry, and it's in the U.S. government's best interests to convene a meeting to discuss the future of the industry. Clinton suggested that automotive industry execs, labor union officials and government types should be present.
