No Segway for Toronto

Toronto's city works committee has decided against allowing a one-year trial for the use of Segway Human Transporters on the city's sidewalks, leaving the vehicles nowhere to run since they're also not allowed on public roads. This hopefully will give prospective buyers a chance to reflect on the two-wheeled wonder that requires no battery charging or gyro stabilization, and that's a third of the weight (I believe it's called a "bicycle" and brings some health and financial benefits as well).

And as long as we're on the topic of Segways, anyone want to wage a guess as to what will happen with the company's relationship with Delphi? Short-term, Delphi says that it will remain committed to its non-automotive suppliers, but it'll be interesting to see what happens in this situation as restructuring plays out.
