Chrysler's Jason Vines tells media we're wrong about truck and SUV sales

The big news ever since September's sales were reported is that SUVs and trucks are on their way out with the American public. Not so says Jason Vines, Chrysler's Vice President of Communications, in an open letter to the media on Chrysler's media blog. Vines noted that while his competitors saw huge declines in SUV sales, the Dodge Ram was up 5%, the Dakota 7% and Chrysler Group's SUV sales all together rose 11% in September. (Note: the Durango dropped 11% and the Liberty fell 1%.)

The real reason for Mr. Vines rant was to introduce Chrysler's new sales promotion called "Advantage" that offers $1,500 to $5,000 cash back or zero percent financing for 60 months on all 2005 models except the LH cars.
