DCX decides to go gung-ho in China

On Tuesday DaimlerChrysler announced that it's buying a larger stake in its current Chinese joint venture with Beijing Automotive Industry Corp. called Beijing Benz DaimlerChrysler Automotive. Rolls of the tongue, doesn't it? Its stake in the venture will rise from 42 percent to 50 percent. Construction of a factory capable of producing up to 25,000 units a year began late last year. This venture will allow for the introduction of Mercedes Benz, Chrysler and Mitsubishi models in the Chinese market as early as November of this year.
