Chrysler may increase Liberty diesel production

Chrysler says the diesel Liberty sells within 18 days on a dealership lot raising a flag for executives to build more. VM Motori in Italy builds the 2.8-liter common rail diesels and Chrysler COO Tom LaSorda said, "If we need more, we're going to order more." Chrysler is also considering more diesel models, with the Jeep Grand Cherokee as a prime candidate. Chrysler will announce any new diesel applications by year-end.
