NHTSA probes Ford F-150 and Expedition

The federal agency will look into a potential defect in the cruise control of 1995-1999 and 2001-2002 Ford F-150s and 1997-1999 and 2001-2002 Ford Expeditions and Lincoln Navigators. 218 complaints have been filed involving engine fires started by the cruise control switch. Engine fires are not good. The 2000 model year vehicles were recalled already. Now it looks like the rest might be recalled. But even the 200 models simply had their cruise control deactivated. Replacement switches aren't available until April.
