Sarah A. Webster of the Detroit Free Press writes about the dull buzz left over from Oprah's Pontiac G6 stunt. She points to "insiders" that call the G6 a flop. Last month Pontiac offered $3,600 in rebates on the G6. I drove one in the Autoblog Garage and for that kind of price the G6 is definitely competitive in the segment and is far, far superior to the popular Grand Am it replaces. But the quick fixes suggested by our readers make sense. Update the engine and transmission and my own feedback is to update the door panels. Then you'll have a vastly improved sedan. That might bridge the gap between the 9,000 vehicle difference in Grand Am to G6 sales.
