Chrysler saves jobs for new midsize cars

Chrysler is expected to announce a $506.8 million dollar investment to renovate two Sterling Heights, Michigan factories to ready the plants for the Sebring/Stratus replacements. They will secure 5,000 manufacturing jobs for the rejuvenated plants. The three new vehicles (Chrysler sedan and convertible and Dodge sedan) will ride on a platform jointly developed with Mitsubishi and will be taller and wider than the current midsize offering. They will also offer all-wheel drive and a diesel engine option.
