Fleet buyers have to wait on hybrids too

One of the logical industries to hop on the hybrid bandwagon is having a tough time of it. While regular customers are waiting months for certain hybrid models, fleet buyers are often waiting even longer because they're buying in such large bulk. Even Hertz, owned by Ford Motor Co., is having a tough time getting the new Escape Hybrid on their lots. Some municipalities are trying alternate methods like getting the local media on their side to get the car companies to cough up the vehicles they've ordered.
