Autoblogging Baby: New California safety seat law

How crazy is California over car regulation? Try the latest safety seat law that requires all children under age 6 or weighing less than 60 pounds be placed in a child restraint system. We think it's certainly safer to have small children ride in the back seat, as in my youth that's where I was in my mom's car. But how big of a child's seat is there for a 50 pound five-year-old? I'm sure they won't be squirming in that. First time offenders will see a healthy $100 fine but try and talk your way out of it with the few exceptions like "Um…there is no back seat." Just one more reason for new dads to get that Lotus Elise.
