Motorcycle sales sky high in 2004

Over 1 million motorcycles were sold in 2004, up 4.7 percent from last year and is at the highest level since 1979. USA Today reports the reason being more women are purchasing motorcycles and that they appeal to a broader range of people. The average age of buyers in 2003 was 41 up from 32 in 1990. But a big omission in the story is the popularity of motorcycles in pop culture and all the television shows featuring bike builders and celebrities. How did they miss that?
