Detroit Auto Show: Behind the scenes.

Walking around Cobo Hall you notice a few things. I'd say almost half of the people here are from either Europe (mostly Germany of course) or Japan. It truly is an "international" show. Although the presentation from Mercedes to introduce their new M-Class was so boring and impossible to see the stage that I circled the entire show floor and caught lots of preparation for more debuts.

There are a lot of empty turnstyles at numerous automakers booths. These are probably for debuts either tomorrow or Tuesday. Some folks just left covers over their vehicles. Poor cover since anyone that reads Autoblog could figure out the SUV shape at Subaru is the Tribeca.

I caught some preparations at GM as they rolled out the prototypes Walt
posted earlier for public display.
