Detroit Auto Show: Autoweek blows embargo, releases official Dodge Charger pics

Update: I e-mailed AutoWeek to get the skinny and got a super fast reply from Mike Floyd, the editor of AutoWeek.com.
"Dave, we posted them because the Feb. 2005 edition of Motortrend, which has been on newsstands since last week, has all the Charger photos and a story on the car. They've blown the embargo, not us…

We're well aware of all the official embargo dates (it's actually Jan 10, at 12:01 for Charger, you have it as Jan 9), but seeing as hundreds of thousands of folks have already seen it in the magazine, we felt like, along with STS-V and Z06, which have also been in several magazines already on stands, it was time to put them on our site.

We also alerted Chrysler PR as to what we were doing.

Hope that clears it up…"

It does Mike, thanks! They've also posted images of the Corvette Z06, Cadillac STS-V and Dodge Viper SRT-10 Coupe. All featured in Motor Trend. We'll post some more images at 12:01 a.m. tonight of the Dodge Magnum SRT-8 and Viper SRT-10 as well as the Mustang Convertible, so check back.

My embargo date for the Dodge Charger reads January 9, 12:01 a.m. I?m not sure what corporate site AutoWeek uses but I guess they?re either following Robert Farago?s advice of breaking down the embargo wall or got permission to run the slew of official Dodge Charger images. Discuss amongst yourselves. I do like it, but no it doesn?t blow me away. I?d rather have a Magnum.
