Tweaked 2006 Range Rover picture

For 2006, the flagship truck from Land Rover gets a little makeover (Click on the picture for a bigger image). Add to that tweak two new engines, a 4.4-liter V8 making 305 hp and a supercharged 4.2-liter V8 making 400 hp. All 2006 Range Rovers get a new front bumpers, headlights and taillights, a new front grill and revised "power vents" on the side. There is also an option for new 19-inch alloy wheels.

By opting for the supercharged edition, Land Rover throws in a mesh grill and power vents, 20-inch alloys and black-on-silver badges. Is this now the Bling-King?

?We?ve only changed the design where we can provide subtle enhancements,? says Land Rover?s director of design Geoff Upex. ?The Range Rover is about grace and class, not extravagance.?

Other changes to the 2006 Range Rover include better brake, steering and air suspension performance, more sound isolation and colors inside, adaptive headlights, tire-pressure monitoring, touch screen controls for audio, phone and off-road driving info, rear-view camera and a six disk DVD changer with twin screens in the rear seat all integrated with the truck?s sound system.

No prices have been announced yet, but does that really matter?
