GM Daewoo suing China car company for Intellectual Property

It's obvious that Chery Automobile Co. copied the design of the Chevy Spark (aka Daewoo Matiz) and GM Daewoo is suing for the use of the patents. "We have a responsibility to protect the lawful interests of our company and our licensee SGMW, and to protect the reputation of our products and our intellectual property rights. It's also in the best interests of consumers that we do this, so that they can make appropriate purchase decisions based on accurate and complete information," said Ken Wong, General Counsel of GM Daewoo. The second-generation Matiz II was introduced in August 2002. Since the first Matiz rolled off the line, more than 1.3 million have been sold worldwide, making it one of the world's most popular mini-vehicles. I've heard other cases of Chinese car companies stealing the car and making it themselves and selling it cheaper. I think it was a Honda CRV in that case.
