I can't really believe the U.S. census takes these kinds of statistics but the most recent figures from 1997-2000 show there is one SUV for every 11 people in the Hawkeye State. The numbers jumped 97 percent and state statistics say the actual number may be even higher. States like Iowa, with a wintry climate, make sense for heavy populations of four and all-wheel drive vehicles. So what's your excuse Southern California?
