Review: 2009 Mazda6 s Grand Touring
With a tagline like "Zoom Zoom", Mazda has given itself the mandate that every one of its vehicles must be fun to drive. While that standard is more easily met with dedicated sports cars like the RX-8 and MX-5, infusing the essence of Mazda's marketing pitch into CUVs, economy cars and family sedans is easier advertised than done. Mazda runs the risk of damaging its message if each iteration of the CX-7, CX-9, Mazda3, Mazda5 and Mazda6 doesn't measure up. And so the 2009 Mazda6 arrives with a new design, more room and more power as the brand's all-new offering in the hotly contested ... Read More

0Report: Next Mazda6 to go four-cylinder only 1335392940
Beneath the gorgeous and impossibly long looking hood of the Mazda Takeri Concept lies plenty of real estate. By our estimation there's room for any number of powerplants, from a high-revving rotary to a twin-turbo V6. However, when Mazda launches the new 2014 Mazda6, which will ape the looks of the Takeri show car, it will only contain a measly little ...

Official: 2014 Mazda6 confirmed for Paris Motor Show 1333570500
The gorgeous Mazda Takeri concept is making its U.S. debut at the New York Auto Show, and you'll want to take another close look at it: it will "strongly influence" the 2014 Mazda6 that we'll see at the Paris Motor Show later this year. The next Mazda6 will also follow the Mazda CX-5 in the company's lineup of SkyActiv vehicles. In spite of the 2014 ...

Rumormill: Mazda6 coupe coming? 1323097020
The web has fired up an interesting bit of rumor concerning the next-generation Mazda6. British auto magazine WhatCar? reports that a shadowy senior official within the Japanese automaker has confirmed that a coupe version will bow after the current sedan's successor debuts in a little over a year. The 2013 Mazda6 is set to hit the market in January ...

Tokyo: Mazda Takeri concept wows Tokyo Big Sight 1322621760
Mazda has just taken the wraps off of its new concept sedan, the Takeri, at its display stand here at the Tokyo Big Sight expo hall (honest, that's what it's called). The C/D-sized concept sedan furthers Mazda's Kodo 'Soul of Motion' design language while hinting at the next Mazda6. Predictably, the Takeri (derived from the Japanese word for "Male") is ...

Report: Mazda placing QR codes on rental cars to spur sales 1321988340
Mazda is hoping to entice rental car customers into a new Mazda6. The company is supplying the sedans to around 1,000 Enterprise Rent-A-Car locations, and each vehicle will come with a Quick Response code stuck to the dash. Renters can scan the code for more information on the Mazda6, including specifications, links to local dealers and more, says ...

Report: Is the Ford Mustang plant in jeopardy now that Mazda is pulling out of Flat Rock? 1308261600
Once the current Mazda6 reaches the end of its life cycle, Mazda will begin production on the next-generation car. The automaker won't be building the midsize sedan in the U.S. anymore. Currently, the Mazda6 is built in Flat Rock, Michigan, at the AutoAlliance International assembly facility that the Japanese automaker shares with Ford. The Blue Oval ...

Mazda and Ford have long participated in a joint-venture at the Auto Alliance International facility located in Flat Rock, Michigan. Mazda presently uses the facility to produce the Mazda6, while Ford pumps out the Mustang. We heard rumblings that Mazda was looking to pull out of the partnership, and now those rumors have a bit more teeth. Mazda has ...

Report: Mazda to abandon MI joint-venture plant with Ford 1307115000
AutoAlliance International is located in Flat Rock, Michigan, and the factory serves as a joint-venture assembly plant for Ford and Mazda. The Blue Oval builds the Mustang, while its Japanese partner churns out the Mazda6. There seems to be a problem, though – at least on Mazda's end of the partnership. Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK), is ...

Report: Mazda6, Subaru Tribeca headed for the exit ramp? 1305041400
The Subaru Tribeca and Mazda6 haven't exactly set the U.S. auto market ablaze, and a report in AutoWeek (citing Japan's Nikkan Kogyo) claims that both models could meet an untimely demise. The Tribeca has been unpopular seemingly since the day it was introduced as the B9 Tribeca, and recent sales figures show that the Subaru crossover has only found 910 ...

Video: Unexplained Mazda violence in Russia 1301011080
You know those cranes that you see at many large grocery stores? You know, the ones with the shiny, pointy claws that can't seem to pick up a teddy bear or some fuzzy dice. They're infuriating to use, mostly because you know you just got duped into paying fifty cents for something that you just can't win. They have the same claws in Russia, and apparently ...
