Dorian Valenzuela made sure to finish resto-modding his classic 1970 Alfa Romeo Giulia 1300 Ti before applying to Singer Vehicle Design, and it's a beautiful part of what got him the job.

Alfa Romeo USA has posted a two-minute spot talking up the technology and capabilities of the 4C, with beauty shots of the car augmented by an amorous pantomime between two beautiful people wearing a whisper of clothing and some un-subtle editing.

Nothing quite sounds like a vintage Alfa Romeo four-cylinder engine at full gallop, especially in motorsport trim. With a combination of low-frequency burbling played over a high-pitch scream, they really know how to sing. This week Petrolicious takes a look at a truly unique Alfa Sprint Speciale that's just as adept at competing in the wide-open La Carrera Panamericana vintage race in Mexico as it is snaking through some undulating, tree-lined back roads.

We love Motor Trend's annual World's Greatest Drag Race video. Now back for its fourth appearance, the idea of lining some of the world's fastest cars up for a ten-wide, straight-line, full-throttle run is, well... it's pretty freaking badass.

While Jay Leno's Garage was conceived to highlight the wonders of The Big Chin's eponymous storage facility, Leno does occasionally get out an into the larger world. Pebble Beach and the festivities around Monterey recently provided a great excuse for a road trip, and Leno seemingly had a pretty full dance card.

Alfa Romeo has made all manner of vehicles over the years: hatchbacks, sedans, wagons, coupes... there's even been talk of a crossover. But it could be argued that the quintessential Alfa Romeo is a roadster. While the future of the program with Mazda remains in doubt, Alfa has arrived in Geneva this year with a Spider version of the nimble little 4C.

Alfa Romeo's gorgeous 4C remains a car that we in the United States are forced to admire from afar. Thankfully, our petrolheaded brethren in the UK and Europe seem all too happy to flaunt the 4C at most every opportunity. Take this video of the team at Goodwood, running the mid-engined Alfa up the estate's historic hill.

Following the Top Gear adage "You can't be a true petrolhead until you've owned an Alfa Romeo," is rather difficult for those of us in North America. Faced with a distinct lack of new cars and an equally disturbing abundance of vintage basketcases, the road to Alfa ownership is a difficult one for residents of the new world.

We're still not sure if or when we'll get it, but we know how fast it'll get 'round the Nürburgring, we know its headlights can give the trypophobic the heeby-jeebies and we know we like it. During a track day in Italy and thanks to YouTube user Marchettino, we also know what it looks like in white and what its 1.75-liter, four-cylinder exhaust note sounds like when you aim a camera at its rear and have someone lay his foot on the throttle.

Every year Evo stages its Car of the Year test, bringing the best performance cars in the world to one location for an epic shootout. This year the magazine pitted eight CotY finalists against each other on Route Napoleon in Southern France - Evo claims it's the "best road in the world" - and then proceeded to nitpick the smallest of faults on each car until the winner could be named. You see, this year's lineup of machines was just so good that only one car obviously wasn't CotY material from t

A Bloomberg report from last month said that if Chrysler ends up offering an IPO, it could jeopardize the entire alliance between the Auburn Hills-based automaker and Fiat, but the outlet now says that an IPO could crush the dreams of hopeful Alfa Romeo 4C owners in the US. As the latest Bloomberg report indicates, publically traded shares would prevent Fiat from gaining full control of Chrysler. This would leave Fiat without the full access to Chrysler's cash flow, technology and manufacturing

If you're like us, Alfa Romeo's long-awaited and oft-promised return to the United States will be a joyous event, not least because it'll be heralded by the car you see above - the 4C. Drive's Chris Harris was at the launch in Italy, putting the punchy, lightweight Alfa Romeo through its paces, and doing a bit of sliding around on the Balocco proving grounds.

Operating a Formula One team is no cheap endeavor for an automaker, which could be why Honda, Toyota and BMW all dropped theirs when the going got tough. But not the Fiat Group. With the Scuderia Ferrari under its umbrella, Fiat has access to a cadre of experienced racing and test drivers, and all without spending a penny: Ferrari claims it operates its F1 team without any investment from its parent company. And what's more is that its drivers are some of the best in the world.

Economic downturn? What economic downturn? You certainly wouldn't know it from looking at the ever-escalating prices classic cars are fetching at auction. Just ask the people at Bonhams. The noted auctioneers recently set the record at $29 million for the most expensive car ever sold at auction with Juan Manuel Fangio's 1944 Mercedes-Benz W196R, and they also lay claim to the most expensive Aston Martin, Austin-Healey, Bentley, Jaguar, Lagonda, Lotus, Maserati, Rolls-Royce and Talbot-Lago models

There are vintage car owners, and then there are vintage car owners who live in New York City. The notoriously compacted urban sprawl is one of the least likely places for people to own vintage cars due to the lack of parking and garages, but that doesn't stop some enthusiasts from finding a way to enjoy owning their classics.

Alfa Romeo has turned up the heat on its 4C ad campaign, and we can't tell if it's from the hot laps Formula 1 test driver and Le Mans racer Marc Gené did in the car or the hot woman waiting for him and his passenger when they pull off the track. It seems yet another trend has started, as seen in a recent video starring the KTM X-Bow.

We wanted to play this one straight, but since it involves Fast & Furious 6 we just couldn't figure out how. Alfa Romeo is touting the role of the Guilietta in the next episode of car guys and gals versus bad guys and gals, and the now-Europe-inclusive franchise is using the post-stunt vehicles in its advertising. Well, we might add.
