Chevy Camaro ZL1 spotted at Nurburgring looking mean

Looks mean, sounds meaner.

Just weeks after an unfortunate crash of a Z/28 prototype, Chevrolet's test drivers were back on the Nürburgring with two copies of the Camaro ZL1. With full photos and info shown earlier this year at the New York Auto Show, there's nothing left to hide, styling-wise. So it's no surprise that GM is running production bodywork in these tests - unlike the Z/28, which has not had any official details announced.

According to the video, the red car uses the new 10-speed automatic that Chevy claims will shift faster than Porsche's double-clutch gearbox. The blue car is a manual transmission. Both cars show off the sweet black hood bulge, and sound every bit as mean as the 640-horsepower engine suggests. Take a look. The ZL1 goes on sale later this year as a 2017 model.
