1924 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A named Best In Show at Pebble Beach

UPDATE: We had the opportunity to chat with Jim Patterson, owner of the 1924 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A, before his car went on to win "Best in Show" at the 65th Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2015. That video can be seen above.

An absolutely gorgeous 1924 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A took top honors as Best In Show at the 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The car is owned by Jim Patterson of The Patterson Collection in Louisville, KY.

This Tipo 8A has sport cabriolet bodywork, created by Carrosserie Worblaufen after the company acquired the car around 1931. CW imagined doing a droptop body style on the long-wheelbase, 145-inch chassis, and the finished product was unveiled at the 1932 Geneva Motor Show. It then won the Grand-Prix d'Honneur at Cannes in 1933.

Other details on this Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A are scarce, but it's indeed an outstanding piece of automotive history. According to Pebble Beach Concours records, this car has only had four owners, and lived a quiet life in France and Switzerland before coming to North America in 2014. Now, as part of Monterey Car Week, the Tipo gets the recognition it deserves.
