Automotive enthusiasts know the UK as not only the home of such legendary marques as Jaguar, Aston Martin, Lotus and Bentley, but also as the producer of some of the best car shows on television. But while Top Gear may have elevated Jeremy Clarkson et al to fame, it's the celebrity actor who makes this latest British car show stand out.

That actor is Idris Elba, who you may recognize from TV shows like The Wire and Luther or movies like Thor, Pacific Rim and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. The part-time DJ also hosted a television special called Idris Elba's How Clubbing Changed the World, but in this latest special for BBC Two (the same station that produces Top Gear) is all about his passion for the automobile.

It's called Idris Elba: King of Speed, in which the rising star covers all manner of car culture and racing disciplines around the world. It was just broadcast last week after Christmas in the UK, but you can watch both hour-long episodes below - for at least as long as it takes the Beeb to sick its lawyers on it.

Looks like it might be interesting. Need to find it on TV though. Can't stand watching videos on the computer.

Agreed. You are telling me an A-list actor cant get these two episodes on a B-list network. Especially one like History & Discovery channel.. where half of their shows are now C-list reality shows?

Beta males are always hurt by womens admission of lust over lust worthy men. Myself included...young man you need to engage in more physical activity, perhaps a toastmasters class and some confidence builders to help stave off the imbalance that makes you so grumpy towards female human nature...and the fact that most women adore tall dark handsome men...really is no excuse for a MAN to catch feelings over statements made by a woman not his own...very weird and beta-esque. Race related or not...because its quite obvious you have an issue with an asian woman liking anything other than asian men. LAME!

My "Myself included" I'm referring to being lust worthy, not beta lol. Dad didn't produce beta's.

I guess I need to stay in and watch more tv, because I've never heard of this guy. But he seems to be real personable and a true car enthusiast. Good luck to him. I'll watch the show if I can figure out how!
