America turns 237 years young today, and the entire staff at Autoblog would like to take a moment to wish all of you a very Happy 4th of July.

Like many of you, we plan to surround ourselves with good friends, good food and good vibes today, but we still plan to chime in with stories periodically, and throughout the holiday weekend. We'll do our level best to keep you informed about all things automotive whenever you steal a glance at the Internet in between bites of barbecue and frosty celebratory beverages, and you can return the favor by staying safe, whether you're lighting fireworks or driving home from them. Happy Independence Day!

We should be doing what Egypt has done, rather than buying an American flag made in China and celebrating a country that has a more oppressive government than the one that our founding fathers left. Just sayin..

Happy Independence day America ! Many nations in the world would not be 'independent' or happy , if it wasn't for the sacrifice of so many young American lives ! (Sorry, about burning down Washington,....hmmm..... If we tried it today, we'd probably have to wait in a queue !)

Really English Bob ? Are you going to talk about Your Queen on Independence Day and then blame others for their reaction ? I hope that gives you and your euro-trash mate Giza a troll laugh. :-)

@ bluepongo WTF ? What have you been drinking ! Mostly, I get blamed for my support of the US ! Nor is DF/Gisa any mate of mine ! I thought my sentiments in the above comment were made very clear. Although the US, like any great power, has made it's fair share of mistakes, I truly believe that many nations today, owe their existence to the sacrifice of so many young Americans, and the determination of US Presidents, like JFK and Ronald Reagan. By the way, I regard myself as more Australian than English (although I like Richard Harris) Australians should never forget the US victory in the Battle of Coral Sea, or the sacrifices of the US marines in far flung Pacific islands that prevented war coming to the Australian mainland. I served alongside US servicemen during America's most unpopular war, and although the US is not beyond criticism, it deserves the loyalty of it's allies. I fail to see the relevance of the Queen, (unless you mean the band) to US Independence Day ?
