Most auto enthusiasts have the urge to race in their hearts, but few of us ever actually get to compete in the world's toughest races. For this episode of The List, we're making sure that Jessi and Patrick check that one off early. Fulfilling one of Jessi's own childhood dreams, we've hooked up our hosts with Wide Open Excursions, a company that offers the unique opportunity of buying your own wheel time in one of the world's toughest endurance races: the Baja 1000. It's no joke, as Jessi and Patrick are thrown in the deep end of off-road endurance racing and must compete with the world's best. Follow the jump to see if they survive Part 1.

This is a good series and this one certainly makes me want to add the Baja race experience to my bucket list.. I like the hosts so far (both are miles better than John Salley on the Car Show) and am not seeing why people are unhappy with Jessi. She's obviously a gearhead and has serious car cred and she's fine in front of the camera. Well done. Looking forward to #45 (followed by #7 and #98...)!

Go Jessie!!! If more women were like Jessie there would be fewer men and women that act like morans and say really stupid things. Yes she is tuff but I bet she is all women (a real lady) too.

Well that was a change.Seeing something in the news that don't involve some sick killer or politics. Just some down right fun. And why couldn't they have races like that in Nevada or New Mexico?Because the United States sucks for fun!Unless you like Porn or sitting in front of a T.V.all day.

Actually they do have races in Nevada, and have had them in Arizona.....don\'t know if they still do them on both sides of the river , but we used to take part in them.

Dont be fooled because shes a girl. Jessie Combs is not just another "pretty face". She is a true gear head. She can weld and metal fabricate and turn a wrench better than a lot of men. She used to co-host on the TV show EXTREME 4X4. She would be my "dream girl" err if I were 20 years younger. C'mon tell me she's not a cutie I dare ya'.

Thank god this was a race. When I opened this page after hearing that they had to go south of the border to do their activity, I was afraid that it was gonna involve a threeway with a donkey.
