Strap in and check out the Hot Wheels Video Racer in action – Click above to watch video after the jump

Someone over at DadDoes got their hands on the new Hot Wheels Video Racer toys. If you're not familiar with the latest from Mattel, allows us to explain. This newest Hot Wheels car is basically a rolling video camera. A lens sits up front, and it's covered up by a Hot Wheels body. Out back, a USB port allows you to download your footage...um, we mean your kids footage, of course.

The DadDoes reviewer tests out the camera by running the car down a few tracks. The resulting footage is both fast and furious. If you're prone to motion sickness, you may want to skip this one, but if not, then click past the jump to see the Hot Wheels Video Racer in action. Also, be sure to head over to DadDoes.com for the full write-up on the $59.99 toy-version of a GoPro camera.

I like the fact it even has an LCD screen on the underbelly. This is more advanced than the Burnin' Key Cars I used to have as a kid.

Things you never talk down/negatively about here on AB or you WILL get down-voted... 1. Toys (ESPECIALLY Automoblox) 2. Chevy Volt 3. Nissan Leaf 4. Nascar 5. Toyota 6. Consumer Reports Conclusion: AB users usually look like this... http://cultureofsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/02/soccer_mom1.jpg

Being butthurt and whining about it and mocking people will also get you some down-votes. Most of the down-votes I see here are deserved because the people getting them are either trolling or are making biased/non-objective comments. You wouldn't have gotten one from me if it wasn't for that last part. Up until then, it was fairly objective.

Funny- since NASCAR and CR regulary get bashed on this site. Toyota and the Leaf get their fair share of detractors and fans alike. Yeah, the Volt is kind of a golden boy- it probably gets better press than its worth but it is a big thing for GM and seriously, who doesnt love a good toy?

Hi All, My apologies to everyone who got sick from watching the video - we shot the video - sorry! Seriously, I think for a toy, it is pretty cool. No, it is not the greatest quality - but not bad for a toy Hot Wheels car. In terms of the footage we shot on the bike ride - here is the deal on why I think it was so shaky... We put the Video Racer in its holder and then strapped that onto our bike helmet. So you had the car shaking in the holder. Then the holder probably wasn't strapped on super tight to the helmet. Finally the helmet was not super tight on my head. Anyway, add all this to a no image stabilization camera and when you ride off road you get some video that could induce a seizure. We are told that release date is 6/24 at Toys R Us. Yeah, audio is not great, but again, we are talking about a Hot Wheels car - somewhat amazing it even has a mic. Our biggest concern is what others have said - will it survive the crazy stunts we all love to do. So far, we have crashed it many times, got some scratches, but video still working. Thanks, Dan

I found my nephew passed out in front of my laptop with white foam and barf coming out of his mouth. I think the video gave him seizure.

Cool concept, but crappy video quality. And the audio sounds like the car is inside someone's anus. Can't expect too much for $60, though.

I would think that most would find it difficult to relate to your anus analogy... an opportunity to stick a microphone up someone's butt doesn't come by every day.
