Mika Häkkinen meets a familiar foe on a snowy road – Click above to watch video after the jump

Mika Häkkinen is a two-time Formula One World Champion. He's also from Finland, which means the man knows how to drive regardless of weather conditions. Mercedes-Benz has tapped him to star in a new ad touting its 4Matic all-wheel drive system.

In the clip, Häkkinen is on a snowy road in an E350 wagon when be comes upon an old SL. The driver of the SL is not moving fast enough for Mika, and upon passing the droptop, he is greeted with the face of a familiar foe. We don't want to spoil it for you, so hop the jump and watch Mercedes-Benz's "Sunday Driver" clip.

Mercedes would do well to study their older car's lines, and figure out exactly what made those cars so desirable. That E350 wagon shows just how wrong they have it today, it's fussy, it's ornate, it's busy, it's inartful in every way. I can't imagine MB building a long-lasting luxury image with their current cars looking the way they do. They're gaudy nouveau riche these days and they built their reputation on classic old money. That's my New England two cents, lol.

      cool video though.

I like the new wagon, but I certainly would never buy a awd MB apart from a Wolf (military G-class)

While I agree with what you said, think of it from this perspective: there will be much more new money than old. The nouveau riche are replicating much faster than the old monied types, so it makes sense to pursue their dollars at the risk of alienating the old.

I'm afraid that this unfortunately doesn't bode well for simple elegance and style.

      Thumbs up. Simple, Clever.

Yes that is Susie Stoddart The MBZ DTM driver.
No, it's not. It's Sophia Myles, a British actress...

I do WISH it was Susie though.
      Isn't she Susie Stoddart?
      (DTM driver)
I don't think so. Susie is scottish, that girl didn't really look like her or sound scottish.
She is a British Actress who over the last 12 months has been popping up with small parts in various drama's and adverts over here. Sorry I can't find out her name because the my wife keeps frowning at me for looking at pictures of girls on my lap top!

Either way it would be rude not to, she is very sexy!
ok,the first two is obvious for me, but really do not know who is the Lady who show up last in the G-class?
I didn't recognize anyone but Michael Schumacher
        • 4 Years Ago
Yeah, but I watched the video before I read the article. I was just saying it went over my head. Who is the chick?
This video implies that the G is more competent on a well plowed snowy road than a brand new E class 4matic.
