Top Gear filming in New York City – Click above to watch the video after the jump

The Top Gear trio was recently spotted filming in New York City. We already knew they were filming here in the States, as well as the cars they were driving. This time, someone has recorded footage as Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond maneuver the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Ferrari 458 Italia and Porsche 911 GT3 RS out onto the streets of the Big Apple.

The clip is rather mundane overall, however, the last minute will leave you squirming in horror. The city's streets aren't in great shape and the BBC Boys have to get their supercars from a section of road awaiting paving to a raised surface. If you love high-end exotics, you may want to look away, but don't. It's particularly terrifying to watch the low-lipped Porsche attempting to pull up. No wonder they gave 100-pound Hammond the keys to that one. Check out the footage after the jump. A tip o' the hat to Tim L!

Only goes to show how much of douchebags Harley riders really are. Caught on TV being annoying asshats.

The question is, once Top Gear US launches will we get a Top Gear vs The Americans episode?
Ok, sure, Top Gear compares these super cars over and over and over...

This would have been more interesting if they had chosen a Chrysler Sebring, Chevrolet Malibu, and a Ford Fusion.

Just imagine the jokes they could hurl at we Americans.
I don't anyone (not even Top Gear) would really compare a Sebring to the Malibu or Fusion. Plus, they don't even offer these cars in the UK. The closest thing to the Fusion is the Mondeo and Top Gear loves a Mondeo.

      "100-pound Hammond"

Is this an inside joke? I guess I don't get it.
        exaggeration for comedic effect.

        He is a wee-man
He is the hamster, yes, but not sure about the 100 lbs. I'm sure it was a joke, but...

I'm 5 foot 7 (male), and weight about 105lbs. I'm a fair bit more greenbean-ish than Hammond, so he's probably a bit heavier.

I'm face-palming this entire comment string.

        *facepalm*

My neighbor caught a few pics of them sitting in traffic in Annapolis, MD in the same cars... US roadtrip in the upcoming season?

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is most likely to be used as a track car - it will be trailer-ed over road construction.

The Ferrari 458 Italia is most likely to be a garage queen - it will never be taken out if there is a possibility of encountering construction or rain.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is most likely to be driven by bankers who will drag the bumper all the way through the construction, and then expect Mercedes to bend over backwards to repair the result of their carelessness.

To think that I missed them by a couple of hours when they were filming in Romania... Feeling quite miffed about that, really.

Some of the comments here, written obviously by Americans who've never watched Top Gear, are stupido! Top Gear is one of the funniest LOL shows ever made, while at the same time being hosted by 3 of the coolest, most knowledgeable Brits about vehicles of every kind, in every price range, ON THE PLANET! It's the #1 show about cars IN THE WORLD. Yes, mates, there is a world beyond U.S. shores!

All I can say is find BBC America on your dial and watch several epis. You'll laugh until you cry and you'll become an addicted TG fan quicker than you can say "Lambo." If they do a "Top Gear America" version I hope they team up Clarkson, Hammond, and May with Boston's Car Talk guys, Tom and Ray Magliozzi.

A few planks of plywood would have allowed them to avoid the above situation... though, it almost certainly wouldn't be nearly as entertaining to watch.

      Awesome!!!!

      Interesting video.

Looks like the construction caught them by surprise. Kind of like they went to sleep in their hotels and came outside the next day to discover the entire road had been demolished. Yet another reason to be ridiculously careful with exotics in NYC.
