We broke the news, now watch video of Travis Pastrana's record-setting run up Mt. Washington behind the wheel of a race-prepped Subaru WRX STI. Sure beats the hell out of Herr Neff's time of 20-some minutes...

I wonder what time Mr. Loeb could pull off.

Does the official event not allow co-drivers?
Just curious, but does anyone think that if the co-driver were not in the car - and just giving directions based on a video camera and headset, that it would save a significant enough amount of weight, especially when going uphill like this?
September 14 2010 at 10:07 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyHow can anyone think that NASCAR has even an ounce of entertainment value after looking at a video like this hill climb??
I'd like to see Monster Tajima and his Suzuki tackle this road. He'd probably demolish the NEW record by another 20+ minutes...

September 14 2010 at 3:21 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySuper cool video, would have loved to have seen more footage of the drive up but still cool. Maybe one day my STi will do it faster :)
September 14 2010 at 2:22 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI dont wanna watch it, I wanna drive it.
September 14 2010 at 2:15 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWow, for them to break the record on the first run is impressive! Given those two aren't a usual pair. I give this video 100 cool points!
September 14 2010 at 1:44 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIntresting...I think old record was made without co-driver.... So it was easy to get some seconds of.
If he would had sticked to "rules" and driven all the way alone, I'm not so sure about record falling. But for publicity, anything goes.
