Stile Bertone Alfa Romeo Pandion Concept leaked images – Click above for image gallery

The raging torrent of pre-Geneva Motor Show leaks is officially in full effect today as a series of images showing off Bertone's new Alfa Romeo Pandion Concept have hit the Interwebs (thanks Unica-Strada!) First of all, what the heck is a Pandion? Simple: a type genus of the Pandionidae. Mmm hmm. That'd be an osprey, sometimes known as a fish hawk. Moving on, then.

To our eyes, the Pandion isn't really what we've come to expect from Alfa Romeo, at least not styling-wise. The Italian marque's classically flowing curves are present and accounted for, but they are bisected by swaths of what appears to be clear plastic. The rear-view is especially busy – kinda like it's fashioned from hundreds of containers worth of Tinker Toys. Oh, and fans of Battlestar Galactica are sure to appreciate the Pandion's head-on view.

Stile Bertone – which until recently was led by Jason Castriota, the man responsible for such far-out designs as the Alfa 8C-based B.A.T. 11 and the Corvette ZR1-based Mantide – penned the Pandion, and we do see some influence from the styling house's past designs. We don't yet know what's underhood of the uniquely styled concept, or really anything else about it not revealed by these images. That said, see for yourself below and, as always, let us know what you think in the Comments.

Why TF does not image-gallery work again? O.o I mean regardless of what thumbnail I click from the main page it is always the first one that gets displayed.
Guys, technology-wise, your blog sucks heavily and in long-term. Do you even care??? :(

It looks like an Alfa-flavored rehash of the Lamborghini Marzal.

I love the Gandini-era Bertone stylistic language, but must they keep returning to the same themes, decade after decade? (And if they must, can we please have a nuovo Carabo?)

I'm not feeling the side glass coming all the way to the wheel housings, but otherwise I'm liking this concept. However if this concept gets scaled to be the next Brera I hope they can reconsider any existing powertrains - the overhangs their current architecture dictates ruins the stance of the Brera and 166.

Those rear seats really look vestigial - will this car grow in length to accommodate real rear pews? Will that throw the tight proportions off? BMWs Active Dynamics concept looks like it packages 4 real adults. If thats Alfa's intent here they have a long uphill battle ahead.

Beautiful car! Except i'm sure its filled with touchscreens.:(

Touch screens are nice but i don't see why every automaker is jumping on the bandwagon with them. Its nice to have tactile buttons on the dash. You don't have to take your eyes off the road just to adjust the radio or air conditioning. And at night you don't have a blinding screen in your face.

Castriota wasn't at Bertone when the BAT 11 was created and had absolutely no influence on that car. It was designed by Valery Muller (exterior) and Gwen Pennarun (interior) under the direction of then Design Director David Wilkie. Check your facts

The front end should be blended with any future Alfa model.
When I think Alfa, that's what I imagine.

The car itself is a concept which will never see the light of the day in the current state.
But there are many concepts, which after being modified, makes it to the producton line.
This car will make the rightful successor of the Brera.

Anyway I would really like to see the new 169 with that beautiful front end.

Castriota left Stile Bertone? This is news to me...

      I can't swim

I like it, but it could belong to any marque. Resembles some of the past concepts from Saab, Mazda and BMW.
I'm thinking of the Saab AeroX, the BMW Efficienct Dynamics, and the Mazda Taiki. Mainly in the use of the partial body work that exposes the 'inside' (around the back, particularly), the aggressive shape of the DLO (check out the BWM side glass) that meets the front wheel arch, and the texture on the body.

Talking about the other cars that look like the Alfa Romeos - there was a Subaru concept several years ago that was a two seat sports car that resembled the '67 Duetto. Turns out that the designer had left Alfa Romeo to work for Subaru a few months earlier....remember the Subaru B9SC?

@JMills - yes, disturbingly and unoriginally like the bmw concept. whiskey tango foxtrot?

looks a lot like the BMW concept, but what's up with the rear seats ? why did they put them there ? those are useless.
Busy rear, yes, but otherwise...hot damn...has a very "Megatron"-type feel.
I don't know - it feels to me like another sneaker concept.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but a lot of the concept cars have seemed to start resembling basketball shoes. This one has that look down.

An Air Jordan(tm) logo would not look at all inappropriate on this thing.
