VIDEO: Jay Leno inspects the Devon Motorworks GTX
2010 Devon GTX walkaround with Jay Leno and Justin Bell – click above to watch the video
Celebrity car-lover Jay Leno was up in Monterey this year, helping to auction off some charity items and checking out every car that caught his fancy. One such car was the newest all-American supercar, Devon's GTX. Jay spotted the car on the concept lawn at Pebble Beach and had development driver Justin Bell give him a walkaround. Fortunately, someone had a camera rolling to chronicle the experience for a Jay Leno Garage segment.
Click through to the jump and you'll hear Justin mention some interesting stats on the car: 3,000 pounds, 650 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque to name a few. That means that this limited production designer sports car will have a much better power-to-weight ratio than the Viper ACR with which which it shares some DNA. In fact, the Devon's numbers mirror those of the Ferrari Enzo, although the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano was reportedly the actual benchmark for the car. No wonder it has been setting production car lap records.
Our favorite part of the video is when Jay fires the GTX up. We can tell you from firsthand experience that the Devon crew has done a terrific job of making their creation sound as good as it looks and performs, and you can get a taste of that in the video. We'll have a lot more Devon news for you in the near future, but for now, follow the jump and watch the clip.

I like how he seems like he's not paying any attention to the guy and us just focused on the car.

Agreed. He clearly doesn't really care about the fluff this guy is presenting to him. He should have watched a few episodes of his before having Jay look at the car.

I haven't even watched the video or read the article yet.
All I needed was to read your "Mmmmm McIntosh stereo" comment.
I just about fainted.
[I'm looking at building up a home sound system, and if I cashed out my 401(k) I *might* be able to afford a really good setup]

Have you listened to Definitive Technologies bi-polar towers?
A friend of mine has a pair of BP7004 speakers which are really really super excellent

Reminds me of TVR. Gorgeous on the outside w/ great power to weight ratio.
Interior is an afterthought. the HVAC looks like they sourced parts from the local dollar store.

I completely agree about the TVR resemblance, which isnt a bad thing in my opinion.

I guess looks are subjective and all that, but I can't warm up to this thing. Whoever designed the doors didn't really consider how the human body bends, I don't think. I do kinda dig the LCD dash display, but it doesn't look like they've shaded it from sunlight at all. That's going to make it hard to read...

I know what they're trying to do, but the lcd screen dash display just doesnt do it for me, looks like something you'd see in a poorly done Fiero kit car. I also know its only a concept for now, but that feature alone ruins it for me.

This car just isn't very intriguing. It's basically a lightened Viper ACR with a uninspired body put on top of it. I am sure it's a fantastic driving car (as the ACR is one of the fastest), just not visually gripping. The design language just isn't cohesive.

I agree. I want to like it, it is cool, and it's not ugly, just....not exciting....

I like that it's based of the Viper. It kind of shows what SRT could do if they could make the car more expensive.

I actually like it. Way more thought put into the design than other small market supercars. Yes the interior isn't great but it's better than the Viper and not even close to the worst supercar interior I've seen. I agree on the LCD instrument cluster though, the sun washout will be terrible. Sometimes safety and ergo requirements are a good thing.

I actually quite like the design of the car. especially the wheel arch area and the tail lights. Actually the whole backend is nice. This car reminds of a good looking version of the 8c.

It's an interesting car...but the exterior front end just doesn't strike a chord with me at all. It needs to be more aggressive/wild looking to really make a big splash. Majority of the people I've sent links to about this have just responded with  looks/comments. I would say this is a good start, but there's lots of room for improvement.
