Unofficially Yours: 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe images leaked?

Either someone is either rather handy with Photoshop, or Mercedes-Benz has another E-Class embargo break on their hands. The folks over at Autoblog.nl (no relation) have somehow gotten hold of what looks to be a slate of images of the 2010 E500 Coupe. We've seen mules of this car for some time now, but this is our first gander at what appears to be a wholly uncovered example.
The front end shots look decidedly similar to the already-unveiled 2010 E-Class sedan, but the profile has benefited from a more graceful roofline and the omission of a pair of doors and what looks to be a B-pillarless greenhouse. We like the swooping rear fender line and the short rear deck, but the large LED taillamps and the decklid itself will be something we have to see in person to truly wrap our heads around. Check out the gallery below and stay tuned for more details as they happen.

I dunno'. The rear looks squidgy in both shots. My Photoshop-o-meter isn't pegged, but it's up there.

Why wouldn't it be a 550?

The interior is lovely.
The butt-end is Korean.

this is 1000 times sexier than the E class sedan!
The funny thing is, this looks more like a smaller CL- class (Thus making it a CLK) than an E-class coupe ( which is what the previous CLKs looked like). talk about irony.... by the time they finally make a real CLK they call it something else!

My thoughts exactly.

you think that loks smaler than the CL? I donno I think it looks like the CL replacement
the CLK was so much more gracefull than this adn it is quite a bit smaller too
I think a CLK is on it's way anyhow
but the rear on tis definitely needs a lot of help
the fron needs some polishing too
i'm not feeling this one

Wonder if they will use this to kill the CLK.

I don't know. The front and side look very nice and distinctive, but the rear looks way too generic. The interior is much better than that of the E-Class sedan, though. I'll reserve judgment until an official announcement is made.

There's something about the line around the rear wheel that reminds me of a 70's Buick.

Nope, still ugly. Same rhinoceros nose as the current Camry, ugly, chunky headlights, pinched front bumper, weird upswept rear fender flare that makes its ass look fat and recalls the Chevy Colorado, and same hideous taillights that scream "chinese re-interpretation of Lexus LS430."

exactly what I was gonna say

I love the exterior, but it really is a shame that Mercedes' interiors have become so utilitarian. I thought they were really onto something with the CLS.

I hate the fact that the rear side window is split into two. That small triangle that won't open makes the design really bad. It lacks the clean lines the previous model had.

While it is good to see Mercedes-Benz go back to an E-Class coupe, I think it has lots its edge in design and quality. The new E-Class coupe looks bloated and the interior looks cheaper than other cars in its class. It already looks dated in comparison to the A5.

Geez you guys can never be pleased. Mercedes releases a sexy coupe and all you do is bash out the little things when if its something like BMW and Audi it can do no wrong. There is a lot of hypocrisy on this blog.
And seriously, whoever thinks it reminds them of a Buick needs to get off the computer now, stop googling Buicks and go out and get a life. It does not look like a Buick, and it does not look like a cheap chinese rip-off or whatever other crap you can come up with. Some of you guys are absolutely ridiculous applying the same comments over and over again to everything new that comes out. Its pathetic. If you think you go do so much better go out and design your own car. If not then just shut up with the comments.
This car is an excellent design and a worthy update of the old CLK. It will surely be competitive in its market and you guys should appreciate it what it is, not bash it before you've even seen it in person or its been officially confirmed.

i still don't get the divided rear side window. it's fussy and strange, not in a good way. i wonder if it's a power vent that swings out for ventilation, or just a cheap way of making sure the rear side window retracts fully? the whole car seems too contrived to me, it lacks the honest graceful lines of earlier MBs but then again, no MB has been cleanly styled in 10 years.

Being the owner of a clk convertible I don't like this new car I think it's ugly but I'll reserve ultimate judgement for when I see it in person.
