Night Watch: What's John Heinricy driving on the Nürburgring?

The GM-sourced video posted after the jump shows racer/GM test-driver John Heinricy flogging an unnamed new Chevy product on the Nürburgring. While it may be unnamed, it is not unidentifiable. The full interior shot's a dead giveaway, but if you still can't figure it out, we'll give you a hint.

My guess for the chevy is a HHR SS. If you look at the dash that is a hhr dash

What's with all the sidewalk chalk all over the track? Those parents over there have to teach their kids not to play in the street, er, I mean racetrack. It's dangerous.

Good news is that it seems to be decently quick, but it bobbed and weaved a lot in the corners.
It's odd to see a guy in full race garb sitting that high in the car.

How would any car enthusiasts know what the HHR interior looks like?

I'd argue that a true enthusiast wouldn't discriminate against any car that makes an impact, whether or not it's a super-performer. I'm generally not a big fan of GM, but the HHR is all about choice, specifically the choice to buy a Chevrolet branded PT Cruiser, hehe. Along those lines, I don't think anyone would consider a Prius sporty, and few would consider it a good-looking car. However, you'd be hard pressed to find a true car enthusiast that could not identify it or its significance to the adoption of hybrid technology.

quick question does any one know if the hhr shares its platform with the colbalt, because i see the tuner crowd doing the same as they did with the integra and the civic, stealing the car and trans planting in to the other, anyone know?
