Sigh... our obsession, everyone's obsession even, with the upcoming Transformers film is continuing to build. We know, we're even irritating ourselves a bit, but you can't avert your from these high-resolution character designs for eight of the Transformers appearing in Michael Bay's summer blockbuster. Clearly, Bay took some creative license in designing each Autobot and Decepticon, so we have to ask, which Transformer received the best update?Check out high-res images of each character design in our ongoing Transformers gallery by clicking below.
  • Jazz
  • Bumblebee
  • Megatron
  • Starscream
  • Blackout
  • Ironhide
  • Optimus Prime
  • Frenzy

Which Transformer received the best update from Bay?

Love everything but the poses. Jazz and Blackout look like they're scrimmaging, Starscream looks like he's just woken up, and I keep expecting Optimus Prime to let loose with "snap into a Slim Jim, oh yeah!"

      looks strong....

These are not anything like the transformers of the 80s, so what are they?. They look like some homoerotic, maschocistic, anime interpretation. I bet who ever designed them must think they're mighty impressive.
How are the toys supposed to transform? BTW GM, these are not going to help you sell cars.....

The only one I could really recognize was optimus. I could kind of make out Blackout... but other than that those are all new faces to me... they really messed starscream and frenzy up real bad. Way to go and stomp the Trasformers good name into the dirt

Yeah I agree with the masses, the new transformers have too many broken pieces all over them. A few of them I cant even make out the face. Its great that they look more realistic, because the cartoon versions would have looked way too simplistic. But I think they went about 20% overboard with all the "moving parts". OP looks the best (of course), they should have done the rest at his more modest level of artistic modification. But Blackout looks pretty tight tho. And why couldn't Jazz be like a Porsche CGT?!? I guess they all had to be GM vehicles, hmph!

The poll should have asked, "Which looks the least like trash?" I would vote for Prime in that case.

Those look so bad. Why did Michael Bay do this to me? The only one that's remotely good is Blackout.

They should have hired the designers of the Alternators line. Whoever did these designs should go back to designing toasters or christmas tree boxes.

Add my vote to the general consensus: They all look really, really bad.

There is only one Transformers movie - it came out in 1986 and you can pick up the 20th anniversary special addition pretty much anywhere DVDs are sold.

They went way overboard on the look, they sold out to GM, they ignored the original transformers universe and any subsequent universies.

this movie will be the absolute biggest flop of the summer. It will do well opening weekend and quickly fade away to nothing after the endless steam of bad reviews fills all forms of media. This with any luck will ruin Michael Bay's career and he will drop off the face of the Earth. Ruining Transformers in this manner should be considered an executable - or at the very least ban him from the film industry, seize all his assets to give to worthy causes so he can't even make an indy film and put it on Youtube - offense.

As for the whole "Bumblebee should be a Beetle and Jazz a Porsche" argument, you're right, but it's not possible.

Both Volkswagen and Porsche refused cooperation with the movie and the use of their pattented models. Why do you say? Because they didnt want their cars associated with warfare. And if you dig up your history books, you'll find out why.

As for the people with the doom scenario... wait and see. That's all you can do really. Spiderman 3 is a terrible, terrible movie (also considering comics and cartoons), but it's still bringing in millions.

I'm going to watch this movie in July with an open mind. Take into account that the idea was to make these Transformers seem real and believable.

These things are hideous and nightmarish. Leave it to Bay to F- it up.
