Ford's '29': RED, WHITE & BOLD

Remember when GM executives wore pins with '29' engraved on them? The number signified GM's goal for market share that year. Well, market share never passed twenty seven percent and the pins quietly came off.

Now rival Ford, as part of its "American Innovation" drive, is giving its executives blue wrist bands with the words, 'RED, WHITE & BOLD" imprinted on them similar to the popular yellow wristbands for retired bicyclist Lance Armstrong. They were given after a meeting with Mark Fields, the head of Ford's North America division.

For your sake, Mark, we hope you're bringing more to the table than blue wristbands. Make the BOLD stand for something at the Blue Oval.
