In short, the 2023 Porsche 911 Dakar is an off-roading 911. Seriously, they really are building it, and yes, it’s extremely cool. It has legit ground clearance thanks to a hydraulic height-adjustable suspension, plus all-terrain tires and modifications to its suspension, stability control and standard rear-axle steering. It has the same 473-horsepower boxer-six as the 911 GTS and the same 3.2-second 0-60 time, too. The available Rallye Design package mimics the livery of the 911 rally car that won the 1984 Paris to Dakar rally (hence the name). You can even customize the number between 1 and 999, but no, you probably can’t replace “Roughroads” with something else.

It's 2.5 inches higher than a regular 911, or 3.5 inches higher with the standard adjustable height suspension. And this is the high level right here. The maximum is 7.5 inches, which is typical for a crossover SUV.
These tires are reinforced all-terrains developed especially for the Dakar by Pirelli. There are 19s in the front, 20s in the back. The front end is unique, including stainless steel grilles, as well as underbody protection. And the overhang itself is shorter for better clearance.
The rear has this fixed wing. It has the sport exhaust and a unique fascia. Now the engine behind it all is a 473 horsepower Boxer 6 from the 911 GTS. It also has the same 3.2 second 0 to 60 time as the GTS, and it has off-road launch control. Hell yeah.
The interior gets standard, fixed-rake, full bucket seats, but you can get 18-way power seats as an option. The rear seat delete is obligatory, not just because it saves weight-- this only weigh 16 pounds more than a Carrera 4 GTS-- but because the hydraulic pump for the height adjustable suspension at the rear is underneath there. And here is the rest of the interior, including special badging on the dash.
This roof rack, including the accessories and the extra headlights, are available. And then the power outlet that powers those headlights is standard, and it's located where the shark fin antenna is.
The suspension, standard rear wheel steering, stability control, and the diffs have been modified. And the brakes are from the Carrera S. Additionally, there's that, the rally design package, the two-tone paint, the stripes, the white wheels, and yes, the number-- they're all included. And why does it look like that? Because of this, the car the 911 Dakar is inspired by, the car that won the 1984 Paris to Dakar Rally, hence the name.
Starting price will be $222,000, but only 2,500 will be made. So I'm thinking, given how cool it is, they won't have a problem moving them, and you might want to act quickly.
