Lane Departure Warning

WHAT IS IT?

Alerts a driver that he or she is about to cross or is crossing a lane marker without initiating a turn signal.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

LDW typically employs a simple camera setup, mounted high up in the windshield as part of the rearview mirror mount. It watches how close the vehicle comes to the lane markers. A computer analyzes the images and determines whether a safety hazard exists. If so, the driver gets a visual, audible or haptic warning.
