Buick celebrates 110 years with list of most iconic cars

- 1904 Buick Model B
- The first production Buick was also the shortest. The 1904 Model B rode on a wheelbase of 83 inches, more than 17 inches less than a 2013 Buick Encore.
- 1916 Buick Model D-45 Touring
- In 1916, Buick’s lineup was revised with a line of new six-cylinder engines. This Model D-45 Touring was the most popular model that year.
- 1936 Buick Century
- The first Buick to reach 100 mph was the appropriately named Century, in 1936.
- 1953 Buick Skylark Convertible
- Buick celebrated its 50th birthday with the 1953 Skylark, an opulent, limited-production convertible with advanced design and technology. Each had Italian wire wheels and the owner’s name engraved on the steering wheel. The same year also marked the first year of Buick V-8 engines and a new twin-turbine Dynaflow automatic transmission.
- 1975 Buick Regal Coupe
- Amid a fuel crisis in 1975, the Buick Regal was the first midsize car in America to ditch its standard V-8 engine for a more efficient V-6.
- 1999 Buick Century
- Today, China is Buick’s largest sales market. The first Buick built in China for the local market was the 1999 Century, shown here being assembled.
