An annual JD Power study examines the things consumers like most about their new vehicles.
The company gets its information directly from car-buyer surveys, and it's based on eight separate categories: engine/transmission, ride, handling and braking, comfort/convenience, seats, dashboard panel, heating, ventilation and cooling, sound system, and styling/exterior.
For 2014, the overall highest-ranked nameplate was Porsche. It marked the 10th consecutive year Porsche took the top spot. For non-premium brands, Hyundai took top honors. In addition to overall awards, JD Power bestows top honors to vehicles in a variety of different segments.
